  • TeleHealth: At no extra cost for eligible Bupa members, you can get health support over the phone working with a health coach (usually a qualified nurse or health care professional) to work on behavioral factors that may better assist your health. 6

What is the Bupa Members First network?

The Bupa Members First network is a network of registered healthcare providers across Australia. How to claim with Bupa?

Claiming extras with Bupa is extremely straight forward.

You can claim with Bupa online or through their app; ‘myBupa’ which is available on most device platforms. The online platform offers a step-by-step tool to assist anyone who needs a little bit of handholding, as well as cost estimations prior to treatment and your current claim status.

Even better: you will generally receive your claim payment within 5 business days! 14

What is the Bupa Medical Gap Scheme?

Sometimes, when seeking specialist treatments, a doctor or specialists fee can be above what Medicare Schedule Fee, and consequently the patient may be required to pay the ‘gap’ fee in addition to any applicable excess.

Luckily for Bupa members, the Bupa Medical Gap Scheme’s focus is to reduce the costs a member pays for treatment when they are admitted to hospital. Therefore, if your doctor has elected to use the scheme, which limits applicable gap to $500 per doctor. 16
