‘The iSelect Car Insurance Price Confidence Terms and Conditions’
Example of how to claim:
If you purchase a comprehensive car insurance policy through us and for example, pay $1,500 and then find the identical policy for $1,499 or less (due to commence within 2 days) directly from the same insurer within 30 days, let us know and we will give you a $100 gift card.
Specific example:
On the 5th of October 2024, Joe buys a comprehensive car insurance policy through iSelect for $1,500 annually and then, a week later (on 12th of October 2024) Joe finds the exact same policy (due to commence within 2 days) directly through the same insurer for $1,499 annually. If Joe notifies iSelect within 30 days, he may be eligible for a $100 eGift card.
For the sake of clarity, there is no minimum price required to participate.
Terms & Conditions
Overview
- At iSelect Pty Ltd (“iSelect”, “we” or “us” as the context requires) we pride ourselves on helping you find a comprehensive car insurance policy that helps to meet your needs from our approved product list. We back this confidence in relation to car insurance policies sold through us with this iSelect price confidence (“Price Confidence”) as outlined in these terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”), set out below.
- By purchasing a comprehensive car insurance policy through us, you accept this Price Confidence pursuant to these Terms and Conditions.
Who is eligible to claim?
- In order to claim under this Price Confidence, you must:
- Be an Australian resident aged 18 years or above;
- Purchase a comprehensive car insurance policy through iSelect. For clarity, a ‘comprehensive car insurance policy’ specifically excludes: third party fire and theft, third party only, compulsory third party, etc
- Hold that comprehensive car insurance policy for at least thirty (30) days; and
- Find and document an identical policy from the same provider, to commence within two (2) days of the date of the quotation, for a price that is cheaper than the car insurance policy you purchased from us within thirty (30) days; and
- Notify us in accordance with ‘How to Claim’, below within thirty (30) days of finding an identical policy.
For the sake of clarity, you will have a total of up to thirty (30) days from the time your cover commences to claim.
How to Claim
- In order to claim the eGift Card (defined below), you must:
- Have met the requirements outlined in paragraph 3;
- Notify us of your requested claim by sending us:
- Your name and email address and certificate of insurance purchased through iSelect.
- Documented confirmation of the cheaper car insurance policy quote on a letterhead paper or other documentation which clearly identifies the price offered and the relevant insurer. For example, you could print out the insurers webpage at the final payment stage for the cheaper policy you have found.
- Documented confirmation of the questions you were asked and the responses you submitted (i.e. a digital screenshot of the final summary page) and the date of the cheaper quote clearly shown
- Send this claim notification and information via email to [email protected] or via post to Attn: Customer Experience, Level 11, Tower 1/727 Collins St, Docklands VIC 3008.
For the sake of clarity, all details provided, including the questions and answers in the quote, must be exact or similar to those which are stated in your certificate of insurance.
- If we are reasonably satisfied, at our sole discretion, that the policy you have purchased through iSelect and the cheaper identical policy you have identified are eligible for this Price Confidence in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, we will send you an e-gift card valued at $100 (“eGift Card”).
- Any eGift Card issued by us under the Price Confidence will be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. eGift Cards are not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be taken as cash. Any unused eGift Card balance will not be awarded as cash.
- eGift Cards are issued by Prezzee Pty Ltd ABN 16 602 963 422. Full eGift Card terms and conditions available online at https://www.prezzee.com.au/doc/terms-of-sale/.
- The eGift Card link must be activated within the required activation period (3 months). Once activated the eGift Card is valid for 3 years from the date of activation. You can exchange the value of this eGift Card for a choice of participating retailer gift cards available on Prezzee. Once the new gift card has been selected, new expiry dates will be set and specific retailer terms and conditions apply. iSelect and Prezzee are not able in any circumstances to extend the activation date or the expiry date of any eGift Card issued as part of this Price Confidence. iSelect and Prezzee will not be responsible for any eGift Card that has been misplaced, lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way and will not reissue eGift Card under any circumstance.
- The eGift Card will be accompanied with information about how to activate and use the eGift Card. To activate your card, you will need the unique code that will be sent to you via email. The eGift Card needs to be activated within the date specified in the email (within 3 months of activation email send date). Should you require, iSelect can re-send the eGift Card activation email up to 7 days before the activation period expiry date, but cannot extend the expiration date itself or re-send the eGift Card activation email after the expiration date has passed.
- Your personal information is handled in accordance with iSelect’s Privacy Policy, which can be found at: https://www.iselect.com.au/privacy-policy/.
- A maximum of one (1) claim is permitted per person.
- In the event a policy is held in more than one name, that policy can only be claimed under this Price Confidence once.
Exclusions
- The following are specifically excluded from this Price Confidence:
- Any price that is not publicly available (for example, corporate discounted rates, employee/ “friends/family” rates, group discounted rates, etc);
- Plans that are not offered in Australia;
- Gifts, offers, promotions or incentives provided in conjunction with the policy; or
- Loyalty points or other non-monetary benefits;
General
- We reserve the right to reject any claim if:
- We are unable to verify that you have purchased a policy with us or that you did not hold the policy for at least thirty (30) days;
- The documentation you have submitted is incomplete or indecipherable;
- We are unable to verify that the cheaper policy is identical to that which you have purchased through iSelect; or
- We have reason to believe that you have breached these Terms and Conditions or otherwise engaged in misconduct (including but not limited to fraudulent behaviour and/or that you have acted in a way that jeopardises the fair and proper conduct of this Price Confidence).
- This Price Confidence applies only to car insurance policies sold through iSelect. It does not apply to any other products or policies sold through iSelect (e.g. health insurance, electricity/internet plan, etc). For the cheaper car insurance policy to be “identical” to the car insurance policy purchased through iSelect and therefore eligible for the benefit of the Price Confidence, the cheaper policy must be the same in every respect to the car insurance policy you purchased through us (including payment frequency, chosen excesses, car make/model, policy type, address, use of car, kilometres driven, location of where car is regularly parked, existing car damage, any car accessories or modifications, age restrictions, unlisted drivers, driver profiles including but not limited to age, gender, driving experience, claims history, criminal record, years insured, level of cover, any extras included (such as roadside assistance, accident hire car, choice of repairer, windscreen excess reduction), excess chosen, and any applicable additional fee applied).
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Price Confidence at any time without notice subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
- Any failure to produce documentation required by iSelect in the timeframe stipulated will deem any claim invalid.
