If you need to lodge a travel insurance claim, the Australian government stresses the importance of being honest regarding the circumstances of the claim1, as there can be serious consequences for providing false information.
Further, they recommend that you make your claim as soon as possible, as some providers may require that you inform them within 24 hours of the incident to be eligible to receive a benefit1.
