Can I use Bupa Dental if I am a member of another health fund?

Bupa Dental welcomes all Australians, regardless of what health fund they are with³. If you're not a Bupa health insurance member, you’ll still be eligible for the same benefits you currently receive from your health insurance provider. Contact your health fund for more details.

What oral treatments will my health insurance cover?

The treatments you’re covered for will vary depending on your insurance company³. We recommend that you speak to your health insurance provider to confirm the details of your cover. Fund and policy rules, waiting periods, and yearly limits apply, so make sure you get all the information you require to make an informed decision.

If you’re a Bupa member with combined Hospital and Extras cover that includes general dental, you’ll pay nothing (when attending a Members First Platinum clinic) for your regular dental check-ups and other preventive services such as:

• Bitewing x-rays
• Fluoride treatments
• Mouthguards
• Regular dental exam
• Scale and clean

If you’re a Bupa member with Extras cover, you’ll receive a refund of 60-100% (yearly limits apply) back on most dental items - excluding orthodontics and hospital treatments - when you visit a Bupa Dental clinic or a Members First dental provider³. Fund and policy rules and waiting periods apply.

Bupa members will also enjoy a variety of other benefits such as gap free kids’ dental on selected covers, up to your yearly limits, at Members First providers. This excludes orthodontics and hospital treatments.
